• Founded 6 June 1844 by Sir George Williams

• Three fold purpose : to help young men develop in spirit mind and body – which gave rise to the Red Triangle – its famous symbol.

Vision Of the YMCA

• Proclaim the Christian gospel according to the Holy Scriptures

• Provide programmes for the communities in the Greater Cape Metropolitan area

• Programmes need financial support of both local and international communities and businesses

Mission Of the YMCA

Is to empower those most at risk in South Africa through the development of Leadership, Education and Communication Skills.
